What's Your July 4th Phono Project(s)?

How many of you guys spent the Independence Day for a phono project?

I am working on the Brunswick Panatrope portable I purchased on eBay lasy week. Although it was advertized as working and the seller posted a demo video, I simply could not make it work. The spindle position was wrong and caused the turntable touching the auto-brake. I opened the case and to my surprise, the governor only had one weight and spring left. The first problem was solved after I reassembled the gears. The second problem was also solved easily as I have some Brunswick spare parts from my last project.

The Panatrope reproducer looks OK but in my several tests, it had trouble handling soprano high notes. I am still trying to figure out what's wrong.

The followings are the videos I made with the Panatrope portable:

I brought home three terrific record cabinet from Union but each one needs a bit of work. This one had a broken foot and some loose veneer. It's in the healing process. Jerry Blais

Just listening to them, I hate to say. The weather is way too hot right now for working in the garage. :(
