Standard Model A

Looking at a Standard Model A on Craigslist (about 18 miles from home). Complete, working, etc. Owner posted 3 photos and this Standard has the speed control and brake on top of the case. One thing that does not look right is the distance between the platter and the top of the case, The platter looks thinner than the Standard A that I have in my collection.
Apparently this is obviously a later or earlier model than the one I have. My machine has the brake/speed control on the front of the unit vice the top.
Comes with 20+ Standard records and from the photos looks good except for the spacing between the platter and top of the case. I cannot really tell from other photos I found on the net.
Anyone have a Standard A like the one I described so I have a reference prior to going to look at this machine - I'm a sucker for horned machines..........TIA
