Is this a re-done Credenza or simply a copy (of the cabinet as well)?

It's a copy- superficially a very close one but the details are different- for example a real Credenza has recessed panels on either side of the circular turning over the doors. This one just has routed lines. The bun feet are differently shaped too.

There were quite a number of Credenza clones, and other Orthophonic Victrola knockoffs, produced by third tier manufacturers during the late 1920s. Since the patents covering the "Orthophonic" sound system--sound box, tonearm, horn--were exclusively licensed to Victor, they could only emulate the cabinet styles. Normally, the sound quality was third rate compared to the real deal.


There have been several posts on this forum spotlighting the various "Me Too Orthophonics." This one shows a rather unique substitute for Victor's six foot re-entrant style folded horn (on page 2) --

Superficially? Granted, they're not the best photos, but to my inexperienced eye, the exterior is an extremely close copy. I think the bun feet might be resting on some sort of furniture sliders, but the "edge" around the top of the feet seems to come down too far. As for the panels astride the center turning, I really had to stare at it. From the turntable picture, it's evident that the lines are just routed in. The front-on view is inconclusive in that respect as I looked at photos of my Credenza taken with just a flash. Without shadows, the depth of the recess isn't evident, and I had to go and look at the real thing to be sure!
