Anyone know who made this cabinet?

Just found this cabinet last week on Craigslist. It was advertised as Victrola cabinet, probably because that's what the grandparents used it for. I think it's more likely a sheet music cabinet. It is very solid, but the finish o one side was mostly gone so I had to refinish that side. Everything else just needed some good cleaning. I cannot find anything about the manufacturer or any other information on it. The nice rounded front door reminds me of a Herzog, but others probably used this form as well. Does anyone have any information about it?
Thanks
Andreas

There's a better than 75% chance it was made in the Grand Rapids region.

And a similar likelihood that it was originally intended as a sheet music cabinet.

Sweet find!

I've seen ones similar to this one that have a mirror attached to the backsplash...Any evidence of a mirror on the backsplash? What did you pay for it, and what did you do to spruce it up and get it looking so nice?

Thanks. Why is that and do you have any guess about what company made it? Or was Grand Rapids a center for similar cabinets?

Thanks again
Andreas

Thanks. No, there is no evidence that there was anything attached to it. I have couple old cabinet with mirrors attached, so I would have noticed.

I paid $180 for the cabinet, an exhibition reproducer in nice shape and a stack of records.

Used Howard's Restore a Finish for most of the cabinet and alcohol and shellac for the side with the bad sun damage. The front was also very dried out with quite some loss of shellac finish, but after a few runs with Howard's it looked so good that I decided to leave it for now and maybe just use some lemon oil and wax if it looks dry again.

Beautiful cabinet, I've been looking around for one similar to put my player piano rolls in.

I can't say enough good about that Howard's Restor-A-Finish. We use it all the time at work, I've seen it bring back finishes that you think are completely toast. It's also good at removing white water ring damage, heat damage and getting paint drips/scuffs off. I use a little super fine steel wool to put it on.
