I am looking into buying a phonograph. One I am considering is a Sherwood-Brooks made in Chicago, il around the 1920's. I cannot find anything on this manufacturer. Does anyone know of this company and cant give me some insight to it?

Thanks in advanced.

By the looks of the reproducer I'd guess this is an early Orthophonic-type machine manufactured after 1925.
If you could get further closeup pictures of the tonearm, reproducer and motor works, maybe others could help you identify the components and who might have manufactured them.
If the machine is in operating condition and the price is rather low, this may be a good buy. Small-time brands such as these are harder to get parts for than Victor products.
Good luck!
Bob

PS Udate: The seller's asking price, in my opinion, is too high...you could get a good Victrola Orthophonic machine for that price or less.

Thanks Bob for the input.. He is asking $325. I would offer less. Here are a few more pictures I could find.
