I got this Granada off craigslist for $45. It was the first one I bought and I did have the reproducer cleaned up a bit but otherwise it is in good shape. Only thing is, I thinking it was refinished. Any thoughts? If it was I may be more inclined to strip it down and do it myself.

It has been stripped. But even with that and the missing grille, a bargain!

Good then I will do some work on it. If it was original I would have left it alone. This one was made before they added the grille according to the Victor-Victrola site and the people we bought it from were smart enough to save all the pieces that have fallen off (like part ofthe foot. I'll put some effort into it as it sounds great.

That looks like a very early Granada, like the early Consolettes, they also did not have grilles.

Then it probably has a nice brass reproduceder!

Yes, it is a pretty early one. It is labled Granada 7112. Part of the first year production 5. I will have to check my reproducer against the one that came on my Consolette.

Look and see if there are 9 or 7 of the tear drop shaped holes in the cover. If it is 7, you are in luck.

Thanks Clay. Looks like it is pot metal. I did ship it out to have it repaired and they were able to do a few things to freshen it up so it must not be in too bad shape. The sound is really bright.....and loud.
