I've always been a Kotton Klenser guy but recently tried GoJo (grit free) and was pleasantly pleased with the results. Kotton Kllenser does a great job but it does leave the cabinet with a tacky feel. After a few days the tacky feel goes away. I tried GoJo on an Edison Standard that was packed for the CAPS show immediately after servicing and cleaning the cabinet. I didn't want to pack a machine with a tacky finish. I thought it did a great job. I would be interested in other comments. Jerry Blais

Jerry, I agree. I stopped using Kotten Klenser several years ago. My wife hates the smell, which is what prompted me to try something else. I think GoJo or Goop work just as well - and they cost half the price!

I've been a Goop guy for a long time now, but I do find that it goes "bad" after a year or so in the jar. Once it's not bright white anymore, throw it out, otherwise the finish on your machine may stay tacky for months instead of days.

I use Goop too. My dollar store sells it for $ 1 a tube. I find 1 tube will clean a decent shape machine and 2 will do it for a rough case. It does stay sticky for a day or two but it has been easier to find than the gojo.

I use GoJo too and I think it does a really good job. Just don't leave it on for too long as it can really soften up the finish.

I like the Gojo hand cleaner, inexpensive and does the job of cleaning cabinets, well.

If it is summer and I can be outdoors, or it is warm enough to have windows open on my sunporch, I still prefer the performance of the Kotton Klenser for many of my projects... it spite of it's dreadful smell.

My next door neighbor, who is known to be a bit of a busybody with a complaint at the ready, carried on for a week about how visiting with me on my sunporch last year gave her such an awful headache while I was cleaning up an antique rocking chair.

I have a difficult time finding the non-pumiced version of GoJo here in town (though you can find the pumice version in industrial-sized buckets everywhere), but have ordered it online if I needed to do some clean up work and could not have the windows open to use the Kotton Klenser.

I have always used Kotton Klenser and been pretty pleased with it. It is a cinch to use. May try GoJo when my supply of KK is gone, though. Is it applied the same way, e.g., brush it on, wait a few minutes, and wipe it off?

I have never found the scent of KK especially objectionable, by the way, but maybe that is just me.

Yes, GoJo or Goop work just the same way as Kotton Klenser.

I never minded the smell much, but Barb hates it - she said it permeated the house. Funny - she doesn't seem to mind some other smells...!

I couldn't find GoJo in my area either, but I found GooP non-pumice hand cleaner work also very well. It can be found at Walmart in the automotive department and in many dollar stores around here.

Just recently I was surprised to find GoJo Cream cleaner at Autozone....
