Hello all

What are my chances of locating an electric motor for one of these? Was the electric motor used in other Victrolas ?
Opinions would be appreciated.

regards
Stephen

As it is reputed to have only had 588 production units of the VE-130 manufactured with the electric motor, (of which allegedly only 60 were known to still exist as of 2010), it might be a bit challenging to locate a remaining motor that isn't in use.

That said, I do not know if Victrola electric motors were/are interchangeable. I'm certain another more knowledgeable in this area can speak to this... :rose:

They should be interchangable. I'm assuming it's the universal motor you're looking for?? There may be variations in them, but I'd suspect that one from any contemporary machine (120, 200, 300 or 400) series would be the same since they were all produced around the same time. I've seen complete motorboard assemblies on eBay even recently, so they are out there.

If you are anywhere near Washington DC I have a universal motor out of a VV 4-3 you can have (free).

Thanks for the replies. I am in Australia and the machine is the HMV equivalent to the VV 130. I'm making the assumption the motor would be the same.
