Hex vex

Hoping someone can help me get this going. It has been standing unused for a long time.

The spring seems fully wound (I managed 2 turns)
the reproducer is sitting on the cylinder at the start
the coin falls directly thru
All cogs / springs seem to be in place and undamaged.
The cylinder carousel cannot at the moment be rotated
regulator is ready to run, no brake acting on it but it is restricted by the spring barrel not activating

Is there a way to manually get it to run through 1 record to see if it resets itself? I an wary to fiddle in ignorance especially with some cogs that look a danger to fingers!

Have you had any help with your Hexaphone!from any of the experts? if you havent I will do my best to help.
I have one and found a lot of little things wrong. But have finally worked my way through it.
They are a fun machine but I would say dont adjust anything until you understand exactly how it works.

Many thanks to Wyatt & Kiwi. I took a lot of time and checked each component, figure out what its purpose is, and if it moved I oiled it.

In the end I was left with the shaft with a few control cogs that seemed to be the culprit as it was frozen tight. (1) With a thin blade I checked that none of the cogs were perhaps jammed against the end plates or spring barrel. There seemed to be sufficient space. I oiled all accessable bits of this shaft and then with a screwdriver gently gave cog 1 a nudge......It released and liftoff. Had to run through about 5 times till everything was figured out. for example the large cog (2) needs to be wound to an appropriate place so that the lowest part of the asymmetrical part is opposite the lever that attaches to the return spring (3)

Once one sets these things eventually the alignment is automatic. Quite impressive when it functions as designed!
