Before I go to the Yankee Trader, I need a question answered. I have a Columbia BQ 2/4 min. cylinder machine. The mandrel that came with it is all pitted and rusted. I was able to clean it the best I could, and it still looks ratty. I want to replace the mandrel. Is the mandrel the same for a BQ, BKT, or a BQ? If so, that will make my search easy.

Hey Harvey, I believe that they are and if anyone can confirm this that would be great. Meanwhile, I have a BKT bedplate and mandrel that might work. I'll check its condition and get back with you.

Re: Columbia BK, BKT, BQ Mandrel
I have a BQ & a BK, and the mandrels appear identical ... (along with mostly every mechanical part except the carriage)
See another post about a BQ apparently made with BKT parts, currently on eebae

Re: Columbia BK, BKT, BQ Mandrel
Thanks I saw your post. My BQ is just like that on ebay. I was wondering why the arm is so short. Mine is identical to the one on ebay except the elbow is black with gold striping. Also, mine is 2/4 min. I had to make an extender for my reproducer neck to fit the connecting tube. Now that I know the mandrel is the same as these other variants, I have my marching orders.
