I know awhile back there was some discussion about cutters for Edison Records, but I didn't see anyone give actual specs. Can someone who has an original 4-minute recorder measure the diameter of the cutter with a micrometer or calipers? Really need an accurate number as I'm looking into getting new cutters made (both 2 & 4 minute) and unfortunately I haven' been able to get any solid info on the 4 minute cutters. I've been given numbers that range between .017" and .024" from 'experts' in the field, while one of Edison's patents says .01". The 2 minute cutter's I have are .04", which matches the specs in the patent that also refers to .01 for 4-minute, so I guess I"m just looking for confirmation.
Also, does anyone have blue prints of the 2-minute doorknob stylus? I have blue prints for the 4 minute styli (the doorknob sapphire as well as Diamond & DD).
Thanks in advance,
-Rob
