Did TAE, inc. ever make an Edisonic or Edisonic equivalent for an Amberola? If not,what would one need to do to achieve this?

I suppose the closest thing would be the Diamond D made for the Amberolas 60 & 80 from about 1928. It had a sort of spring tension mechanism and a big additional weight.

I think these Amberola 60 and 80s were made for export only, right? They used for the 60 table model, old London no. 1 cabinets, and for the 80, left over Sheraton cabinets. I think they were sent to Australia. I've also heard that Edisonic machines, Schuberts and maybe Beethovens, were sent to Australia fitted with steel needle type reproducers in order to get rid of surplus Edisonic cabinets. Can anyone confirm this? Calling Australia!

I have only seen one Amberola 80 and that was at Stanton's at least 15 years ago. It went for quite a price considering its condition (poorly refinished). Many of the people there didn't know what it was and some thought it was a "made up" machine. According to Frow, it wase made for export only.
With that extra weight the reproducer must have been tough on records!
