I've got a super-nice Edison B-375 with original, "s"-curved & hand-carved grille. I recently acquired another, not-so-nice specimen, lacking a proper grille.
My plan is to have a replacement grille made, and after extensive checking, have decided to engage my master carpenter to duplicate the grille, using my good original as a pattern. The cost for one is estimated to be around $2,000. Might sound like a lot, but the improved value of the phonograph it will go on will more than make up for it.
If we made, say, 3 of them, the average cost would come down considerably.
Are any other Forum members in need of a grille? If so, please contact me by direct email and when I find out how many additional grilles need to be made, I can come up with a cost estimate. My guess will be $1200 to $1500.
thanks,
Raphael

Re: Edison B-375 "Louis XV"
I've given the grille project to my local shop, so if anybody wants one made, now is the time to speak up. He is about to start working on the project and the cost efficiency of making multiple copies will be lost once he gets any further along.
