Can you put a mandrel from a Columbia Q on a Busy Bee machine? An it will work. Would keep the original mandrel but would like to play Edison Or Columbia cylinders. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Busy Bee Cylinder Phonograph Can You?
I found a Busy Bee for sale which has a standard-size mandrel, so apparently the change can be made. The only difference between a BB and a Q seems to be the mandrel itself.

You can do it, but if it was mine, I'd rather look for another machine to play standard records. You can get an Edison Standard pretty cheap and they perform really well. I'd also look for à model capable of playing both 2 and 4 minutes cylinders.Talkophone wrote:Can you put a mandrel from a Columbia Q on a Busy Bee machine? An it will work.
