Hello everybody,
Recently I stumbled upon this Edison Diamond Disc phonograph model H-19.
I just wanted to know something more about it, at first glance to me it doesn't seem to be a deluxe model? Seems pretty basic.
Also, what was the Original colour of this phonograph? On the photos the phonograph seems very dark, is that Original?
I think this is a rather common model? Is this example in good condition visually? I am not a Diamond Disc expert, so I may need some help.

The H-19 "Hepplewhite" is one of the more common, basic models of Diamond Disc machines. Originally sold with a grill featuring Fleur-de-Lys shapes, Form about 1992-27 it was sold using the grill in your photos, probably as a cost-cutting measure. It has a single spring and the smaller horn, but is quite adequate for most rooms. Yes, they are usually seen in dark mahogany. It's hard to tell condition from your photos, but everything appears to be in order.
My first Diamond Disc machine was an early H-19 which still occupies a spot in the corner of my parents' den, and which I still use when I visit there.

Thanks for the information, what is a good value for this phonograph? I have read the H-19 in the pictures I posted costs 550 euros (743 dollars). Is that a fair price?

Of course what may be common here in North America may not be so in Holland where you live. Only other Dutch collectors will know this...
. I would recommend asking Guido. He should be able to answer all your questions and concerns regarding this machine....

I have no idea what would be fair in Europe, but that price would be very, very high here in the USA. They are quite common here and appear on Craigslist frequently in the $150-$200 range.Timo Gramophone wrote:Thanks for the information, what is a good value for this phonograph?
