Burnt out power transformers and field coils speak to shorted capacitors in the power supply. Those will have to be replaced also.

I read somewhere, that there are none or very few electrolytic caps in this radio. Otherwise, all or most of the caps are contained inside of large metal boxes or "cans". If you even seen a picture of the chassis, you will understand what I mean. The schematics I've found are blurry are hard to read, even when enlarged. A burned or melted transformer could also be from a shorted rectifier tube. The chassis is in two parts, connected by two jones plugs. I have yet to tackle this. It will take some time to check everything with an ohmmeter. I'm sure to find some shorts. The power transformer alone has about 10-15 connectors as I remember. It will take me some time to isolate the problem with this radio.
If anyone has a clear, better resolution schematic, I be happy to have a copy.

Correct, at this point in the history of Electronics the capacitors in the unit are not Electrolytic, HOWEVER, all capacitors can and do become "leaky" over time, and what is a Leak? A partial short, which can stress and cause power transformers to fail.

If you were in Dallas,Tx I have an RE-45 you could have for 100.00 or less.The Radio works Very Well,The phono is not as robust as I would like but I use soft needles so the may play a part.
It is the cabinet that is not great.

Just for fun, here it is. This is from the Official Radio Service Manual published by the Gernsback enterprise. Hugo Gernsback published innumerable books and magazines in the years before 1960...all dealing with radio and television in its various guises.
I used to be more into vintage radio than I am at present. I just don't have the time to fuss with vintage tube equipment, much as I love it.

It sure looks better than the schematic I downloaded years ago. I find it interesting because of the updates, as mine has a serial number 803. Thank you so much for your help.
I am anxious to start diagnosing the faults in mine and correcting them. I will keep you all informed of my progress, but please be patient, it will take me some time to get started. As I have more important matters at hand right now.
