Anybody got an extra cast iron horn for a 1913 Victrola VV-XI? Got a very nice oak machine that runs great but the horn is missing. The wooden slats are present and measure about 10 ½" across where it connects to the iron horn part. I've got a couple 9 ½" wide iron horns, they won't fit.
I am in Castle Rock, WA (I-5 exit 49) and can pick up within 100 miles or so.
Please let me know what you've got and what you want for it. I might be able to trade something for it..??
Thanks! Cliff

I don't suppose you (or anyone else) know the casting number? I have a couple of horn parts, but don't know what year they came out of.

If the machines indeed a 1913 model, with the open horn style motor and the round tin plate on the motor board then the cast iron horn which you seek is pretty distinctive. It dips down in the middle to clear the spring barrels and has a little raise ridge around this area, presumable to retain oil drippings.

OK I just dug mine out and it's early 1014. SN 66333 D so it might fit yours depending on when it was made. It's still in the shed, but I can take measurements and pictures if you still need one and want to try this one.

Sounds like exactly what I need. It is not an easy find. I'm going to look at some horns Tuesday. A picture could tell the story. Also, the metal 'mouth' of the horn has to be 10 ½" wide.rizbone wrote:OK I just dug mine out and it's early 1014.
