modifying columbia tone arm for better tracking

Sorry I haven't been back to this thread, and thank you to everyone for the input.


I would also like to send out an apology to Jerry Van for my terse reply to his post. I should not have been so sensitive about the issue. That day, I found out that my job would now be part time and I think the shock of the day found me in a most fowled mood.

Anyway, all that aside, and the shock worn off, hopefully there will be no fire sale of phonographs here.

I will not try to alter the Columbia arm, I know it would not end well, and will try to develop a rubber adapter for the back of the reproducer.

If you want to experiment, I think that Ron Sitko has new Columbia arms and elbows, and you could use these.

Thank you very much. Ron seems to have everything ! I do have a broken arm that I think I may still try to do something with. I had forgotten it was in the parts box.

No problem Mike. Sorry to hear about your job. 2010 was a rough time for me & my job. I bet I wasn't "top-notch" during that time myself. It gets better.
