WANTED: METAL STUDS FOR EDISON CYLINDER PHONOGRAPH

Hi;

I am looking for 2 nickel-plated metal studs that are found on some Edison Model D Triumphs and Mahogany cylinder phonographs (please see photo for reference.) I have 2, but am looking for two more. Please let me know if you have any available for sale or trade. Perhaps you have an extra oak Triumph frame with these studs that you don't need. These are for an Edison Mahogany Banner-Front Standard.

Sorry, I don't have what you are looking for, but can you tell about that cool auto stop?

It's not an auto-stop, it's a J Repeater... As far as the studs go, if you can't find them, try to find old steel rod or even old nails of the right diameter and cut them to size. Shape them with a grinder and if you clean them with a steel brush on a bench grinder, then buff them with jewelers rouge, they will look like nickel plated. Using old steel will produce a similar color when buffed.

The phonograph in the photo is not mine, but I do have this same attachment on a Triumph. It is the Acme "J" repeater, which was mostly sold for the Edison Home. It is a neat device and uses a string to draw the reproducer carriage back to the beginning once the record start and stop points have been set.
