Whether it's a good deal or not depends a lot on the condition of the lithographs on the tin case, as well as which version it is. There's a very un- PC version. It's a cute little toy machine but the parts may not be easy to find in good condition. Did it come with the winding key?

Came with a reproduction key motor runs lithographs are in nice shape considering that old of a machine all I need is a reproducer and horn piece.

Looks like a nice case, not the "pigmy" one.

Here is a complete example, quite possibly the non PC version. Not sure whether the soundbox is the original :

I saw this on Ebay the base underneath is very corroded isn't it ? although not visible detracts alot from value

Re: Bing pignyphone
A complete working example in excellent original condition is worth about $250.
Whether you got a good deal or not will depend on how easy it is to find the correct horn and soundbox and any other missing parts. It's easy to find certain similar parts but not necessarily the right parts. BTW, the soundbox in the picture above is not an original one.
A lot of collectors will shun incomplete examples for this reason when a complete example is quite easy to find. That's probably why you got it so cheap on the face of it.
If soundgen is correct about rust, that will half the price at least of a working complete example in otherwise great condition.

Re: Bing pignyphone
Hi- PM sent-- I have an extra Bing reproducer, arm and post. And just an FYI-- To answer epigramophone's question about the Bing he pictured, the reproducer on that one is not correct. Attached are pics of the correct reproducer on my Bing. Hope this helps!
Thanks-
