FOR SALE: Early 2-Door Credenza With Brass Reproducer- $475

Post by gemering »

Here is a very early 1926 Victor Orthophonic 2-door Credenza with 4-digit serial #1961.

The Good:
The motor was removed and all of the bearings oiled.
I gave the motor 50 winds and let it run down completely.
The motor is very quiet!
The machine plays surprisingly well for the fact that the reproducer has not been rebuilt.
All four bun feet are intact and the needle cup is in good shape.

The Bad:
Someone cut the turntable felt down to about 7 inches in diameter and gave some of the panels on the front of the machine some kind of quick overcoat of stain.
The right front door does not stay closed.
The gold is a bit worn.
The original grill cloth has been replaced.

Here it play here:

Here's a chance to pick up a complete Credenza with a brass reproducer for a very good price ($475).
First to pm with sold will own it.
I can help with delivery to the Wayne, NJ show, or to other parts of NJ.
I am about 40 minutes north of Wayne.
Thanks for looking.

The felt was in all probability cut when the needle fell on it while the turntable was turning. It is very common.

Gene - before this machine leaves your possession, could I prevail upon you to remove the back-panels, and see if there is a number stamped into the wood ( probably near the bottom ), and if so, does that number match the serial plate number ?

Thanks ! :D
