WANTED: RED HORN FOR VICTOR JUNIOR

Post by PHONOMIKE »

I'm looking for the dark red flower horn with the gold stripes that came on the later Victor Juniors like the one pictured. Please message me if you have one for sale. Thanks.

The machine in your photo appears to be a rear mount. Were late Juniors sold as a rear mount machine? Thanks, Jerry

Jerry, As always you never miss a detail. To my knowledge the Junior was only a front mount machine. I only put the picture up to show the horn I'm looking for. Here's another pic of just the horn. Thanks.

The rear mount shown in the picture is actually a very late Zonophone. These were made by Victor around 1909 or later. A Victor junior case was used, and the late one piece Zonophone bracket. A solid arm with a ball joint was used in the bracket. This was the smallest of the Oxford series sold by Sears.

I wish you nothing but good luck but in 40+ years of collecting, I have never seen a loose Red Vic Jr horn. Jerry
