Introducing the cylinder to the record industry.

Post by edisonphonoworks »

As I am really not a phonograph collector, It is to me a recording and educational tool. Something to use to record with. I do not put them on shelves and look at them, I use them for research, to find out how things were made, just to find out why. While the phonograph is waning as in value, to collectors, the general public, does not see them as much and values them a bit more. I have been on a field trip to expand production of recorded cylinders. Here is the Edison studio recorder introduced to the largest producer of records, United in Nashville. Their seems to be quite an interest in cylinders. There is lots of new things happening with the Edison Phonograph, and bringing to life, other extinct formats. When times are right I will let those know what is new. Here is a taste to start the hens a cacklin'

I sure hope that this is a hint that another company might be producing new blue amberols and/or diamond discs.

I noticed a Diamond Disc at United? Is this a new disc or a old one?
