Of course, our fellow member's soon to be made "patented" needles could have a color coding on one end perhaps! Then you could tell side 1 from side 2!
in case you are insure about if you have a used needle or not
take it to a bright light and roll the needle between index finger and thumb infront of your face if you see a little flash comming from the needle than its used because it has a flat side that reflects light
and no flash good needle

I wish I'd thought of this 100 years ago and made my fortune!
Recordo, you need to patent that and get into production
To late, it looks like it has already been done. If they made a fortune on it is anybody's guess but probably not. Seems you would see more around if they were successful.

Pretty cool Larry. I guess they figured if they offered twice as many points on half as many needles, they would sell twice as many needles as their competition.

The ad could possibly be from the war years (WWI), as it mentions the 'opportunity to help save steel'
