WANTED: Rigid Arm Elbow

I am in need of a Victor Rigid Arm elbow. I know one of these popped up here just before the Union show, but as things go, I found a machine I need one for after the fact. If anyone has one they would like to sell, please let me know.

Jerry, Its a complete machine minus the horn and elbow, but I think I have a horn that will work provided that an elbow can be found. I know its a long shot , but I have to try.

Jerry I've also seen front mount elbows modified for use on the rigid arm machines but the angle is not correct. The ones I've seen have the horn pointing almost straight ahead, very low to the machine. To be correct the horn should point at a 45 degree angle up. I think if you tried to bend one to the truly correct angle the brass would split or crack.

I have been down that road before... The first Victor horn machine that I got was from a collector who didn't know what a rigid arm machine was. However, the elbow was broken right at the bend and made the machine useless.

I searched for 15 years for an elbow... finally I found one that Lynn Bilton had for $500. I thought many times of making an elbow out of a 90 degree one, but never could figure out a way to make that work. You can't bend them because they are two pressed pieces crimped together. The only way to do it would be to cut a "pie slice" out of the bend and then solder it back together, but it would be weak in the area that is stressed the most and solder might not hold.

I can tell you that if you find an original, it will be stamped "Patented" and the important difference is that it will have a brass collar crimped on the end that slides over the tube attached to the backmount, which keeps it from spreading apart... I have never seen a modified one with this feature.
