Edison Amberola 1B

Post by dutchman »

Curious if the Amberola 1A motor is the same as the 1B. I have a 1B sitting in my shed sans motor (which was stolen prior to me being given the cabinet.) I've been searching for a motor for years and reaching the point of accepting in my mind what I already know in my heart--------there is no orphaned 1B motor on earth. :(

No, the motor designs are different. I know you can drop a full 1B mechanism (including bedplate and topworks into a 1A cabinet with no modifications, so I suppose you could do the opposite also. "Croakinfrog" on ebay was selling parts out of an Amberola III not long ago. This mechanism is the same for the 1B. You might search his user name and make some inquiries. Good luck!
