FOR SALE: Pathé Actuelle w/electric motor - $200
Pathé Actuelle in mahogany with factory electric motor. Fair over-all condition. Top of lid has loose veneer and water damage. Gold plating fair, but I've never cleaned it. Inside of cabinet finish is nice, decal perfect. 1-½" tear in paper cone. Electric motor runs well. Cord and plug need to be replaced. $300 obo

I'd love it .... if it was oak, didn't have a tear in the cone, and was 2,170 miles closer.

Buford Chidester can re-cone it, but you're on your own on the other two!

Re: FOR SALE: Pathé Actuelle w/electric motor $300
As it happens, just yesterday I installed one of Mr. Chidester's cones in a lovely Art Model Actuelle. This last cone was not quite up to par. The fit was fine, but it was entirely lacking in the requisite stiffness, and sounded simply awful; flabby and muddy. A minor modification, the application of a couple coats of thinned lacquer to the five inches at the apex of the cone, corrected the problem, and this Actuelle is probably the best sounding reproducer of this sort that I have yet restored.JohnM wrote:Buford Chidester can re-cone it, but you're on your own on the other two!
Now if I can only get the paint can rings off of the lid of the cabinet...
