YES, he does have his own operation making brown cylinder recording blanks. That is fairly common knowledge. What is odd, is that he may now be employed by a vinyl disc manufacturer, making cylinder blanks, which doesn't make any sense. Shauns operation has always appeared to be a basement cottage industry type of operation.
