Star Spangled Banner 12" version Frank C. Stanley 1904

Post by Rastus10 »

To commemorate the bicentennial of the Star Spangled Banner, I thought I'd share this November 1904 recording by bass singer Frank C. Stanley (1868-1910), as played on my British open-horn talking machine that has a No. 4 soundbox. This version includes the first and fourth stanzas.

I apologize for any sound distortion/lack of visual crispness. I just used my camera to film this and am not a YouTube pro. This record is ridiculously loud and clear. Enjoy something different.

Great recording. I really like that machine. With that machine, I can see why this is so ridiculously loud. It barks.
