Thanks for the link Amberola!

I'm thinking the recorder is for a Home, and the loose reproducer and carriage arm is for a Standard? Correct?

I hope George chimes in.

In this picture, you can make out the letter "S" stamped on the left side of the carriage.

You will have to make a recording stylus for it, but what a wonderful instrument. Anyone record with one of these? How do they sound? (everyone going ha ha ha, NOOOO WaY!!!)

Well, in my next life, I WILL have a Bettini Micro-phonograph for my beautiful Standard A...and maybe for an Eagle (different from the one pictured above?), wouldn't that be cool! :D

I may as well incorporate a couple of pictures of that wonderful red horn that we Bettini lovers would covet. 8-)

This may sound like a stupid question, but why do so many people bid 4-5 days out? Typically, the early bidders don't get the item anyway, they just drive the prices up and start a feeding frenzy... eBay is not a true auction - the item goes to the highest offer at the END of the timeframe, so wait until then to bid.

Reason I put in an early bid is that I've seen sellers retract items with no bids while I was watching. Therefore I put in a low ball bid early. It even happened to me that obviously I and everyone else missed the end and I won with my low ball bid. :)
