Re: Walnut VV-XI Painted Brown
Since XI numbers run to over 800,000, numbers in the 200K range aren't very high. My mahogany XI-G is 370333G and was made in 1917. Paul Edie's site (http://www.victor-victrola.com/XI.htm) mentions that the XI came in walnut in the later years, without being any more specific. XI production ended in 1921. The machine pictured in the top post shows the later cabinet style, with the simplified upper front corner post carvings, which came in at s/n 378,000 according to Edie.
I'd be interested in knowing the date and serial of the earliest walnut XI.

Re: Walnut VV-XI Painted Brown
My Walnut XI is serial number 849664. (It looks like walnut to me) I, too, would love to know if the walnuts were only later machines or if they appeared throughout the serial number range.
Thanks

I am not sure if they used it, but it could be Sappilie, it can be very close in appearance to mahogany or walnut, depending on the shade. Regards, Johnny
