What is the best way to remove the mica side ring, with the 4 indents? Thanks

Made a tool from two strips of wood and 2 nails which worked perfectly. Since I was dealing with pot metal spaced the nails to apply equal pressure, filed the tips off the nails to prevent messing up the holes, a little penetrating oil and off it came.
