Is this real or not?

Post by Stevefury »

I found a listing for this phono. Does this look original, or a cheap copy or worse?
Thanks in advance.

I vote for "cheap copy or worse." I don't think it's a reproduction of anything authentic.(how I love semantics!)

Best wishes, Mark

And is, therefore, wholly original, in the most damning sense of the term.

An usually gruesome specimen.

It's junk. A reproduction should be an attempt at something that resembles an original. A restoration should be an attempt at making something look like it did when it left the factory. Victor never made anything remotely resembling this thing. Jerry

Thank you all for the quick responses. I won't touch that with a 10 foot pole.
I truly appreciate you.
