A few years ago we had a MAPS chapter meeting at our home. We needed to come up with a topic of discussion for the evening. I was interested in the topic of tinfoil machines, but it would rather boring without an example for display, function and input from other members. I decided that since I have a lathe and a milling machine that I would build one for the meeting. I looked at pictures of many machines and decided to put several ideas together and make one that wasn't a copy of a known example. This is what I put together in 90 hours of labor. It does work but is rather soft on playback. You can say that it "Talks but doesn't quite Sing". I think I have the diaphragm pinched in between the gaskets a little too tight. I need to tweak it a little bit but the meeting was a success and it was the hit of the party.
It was rather fun reading and learning as I built it. I also had quite a bit of wonderful advice from Rene Rondeau. I couldn't have made it work without his help.
