Our favorite VV-50 is back!!! Please, please, please...no running to the front of the checkout line for this one lest someone be injured in the stampede. For the price he's asking ($2885.00), I could "possibly" buy a VV-XXV "Schoolhouse" on a good day from the right seller, but probably not too likely. For $2885.00, what would you rather buy instead of this VV-50?

Re: It's.....BAAAAACK!!!
I have made that seller two offers on that machine, both fair ones reflecting market value of today, not 2114. Both offers expired without comment, this seller is either too stupid or lazy to look at what other similar VV-50's have sold for on eBay, or is being forced to list the machine for sale by an unsympathetic spouse, and has priced it to ensure it never sells. There are currently at least two more VV-50's on eBay with prices well over what current values are. That's OK, this year alone I acquired another 4 very nice VV-50's on eBay, all for less than they should have brought.

Has anyone noticed that this is the RARE early Vic 50 Made in the USA? No wonder the asking price is high... it also has the turntable that plays records backwards - you don't see that very often...

You forgot whatever odd color felt that is on the turntable.

The person selling it is nothing short of insane (or nuckingfuts) to think it would EVER sell at that price.

Re: It's.....BAAAAACK!!!
Well over a year-or-two ago, I let this seller know that his VV-50 should sell from between $200 to $350 only, had the wrong-color turntable felt, an incorrect carrying handle, the wrong lid latch, and was too worn and dirty to command such a high asking price. The response I got back was "thank you". I think he is either addicted to placing ads on eBay, trying to find an ignorant mark to scam, or doesn't really want to sell it at all. At the prices he's been asking over the years, he won't. The best this seller will ever do is provoke continuing conversation on this forum.Dave wrote:The person selling it is nothing short of insane (or nuckingfuts) to think it would EVER sell at that price.

Also looks like either some old water damage or mold on that lid.

Re: It's.....BAAAAACK!!!
Actually I don't think it's actually gone anywhere. He keeps listing it, back to back. Has been listing it since at least 2010 (that's how far back the threads go on this board). It's actually doubled in price in that time. It started around $1500. My guess is he overpaid for the thing and refuses to take a loss and is hoping someone is as dumb as he was. That's the only explanation I can think of, particularly knowing just how many people have contacted him.
