It took me over an hour to slowly "crumble" it away from the base mounting bracket without damaging the perfect tonearm. I managed to save the tiny ball bearings and the spacer plate which was caked with hard thick old grease. The reproducer was already rebuilt by Peter Wall and plays super loud and crystal clear. I just wanted to point out how much this collector really hates pot metal - even more than liver & onions
I detest them both, with a narrow margin in favor of liver and onions (simply because grilled onions are tasty).

As far as I'm concerned, the liver can go in the garbage along with the pot metal. Much in the way of colorful language has passed these lips when attempting to disassemble and rebuild pot metal Brunswick reproducers. The same can be said of their tone arms, which was why I was a happy camper when I located brass replacements. :rose:

Tim Fabrizio put a new top on a Model K reproducer that I bought off of EBay.Tim told me it was rebuilt, but I didn't know the old top(which was pot metal)was swollen. So I believe that new tops are available for the O as well.edisonplayer

Yes, they are out there. While I decided to the original was serviceable enough to retain it, George Vollema offered the option of installing a repro Model O top when he rebuilt an O for me.
