I was told this horn is attached to a Victor one. Did they have flowered horns that early for them? I know the twos had them.

I will presume that by "flowered horns" you mean painted flower decorations and not just the shape.

It's not really a question of chronology, but yes, flowered horns were being advertised as early as 1904. However, Victors were never offered with painted flower decoration on the horns as standard equipment. Of course, aftermarket horns were available for Victor in any color and type of decoration the customer might desire.

Victor horns were designated by letter and number. The horns with round bells, usually brass, were lettered horns. The flowered Victor horns were designated by number which was the diameter of the opening. The photo shows a #19 flowered horn for a Victor II or III. Jerry

Just to clarify for others, Jerry; you're talking about a Victor FLOWER horn. Victor never offered FLOWERED decoration on its horns.

Yes George, you are absolutely correct. Unless a black flower horn is really nice, I find them a bit boring. That's why I find a Victor machine with an attractive after market horn so interesting. Jerry
