I'm the same way with shipping crates. I have wooden crates here for an AB Graphophone, AK Disc Graphophone, a couple of Edison Standards, an Edison Home, a couple of Victor IIs, a Victrola XI (a friend has the machine that came in it), a couple of Victor horn baskets, an earlier horn basket for a cylinder machine horn, a crate for Columbia cylinder records, and various wooden crates for disc records.

Marc put it well by calling it "...'time machine' type stuff..." :)
