"This is a very rare Caucasian walnut with ornate craving Victrola..."
The white walnut is definitely intriguing, but I am seriously curious about it's ornate craving...

Sorry to bust his bubble, but it appears to be plain old mahogany. Folks don't have as high a craving for mahogany as they do the rarer finishes.

It's remarkable that it still has the craving after 100 years! This must set a "record" (ooh!) for longevity and persistence.

Now, now, be nice, we can't all be Rhodes scholars like, well not me. This might be someone's Grandma.. However, I did ask for pictures and received none.

That's what always makes me scratch my head. A valuable piece, but not worthy of pics or a detailed description.

I expect they have done a bit of internet research because they are dropping hints like the type of walnut cabinet that they think it is.

Re: VTLA in Colorado Springs
I talked to the owner was told they had a "Victrola Expert" look at the machine. They were also told it was manufactured during the first few weeks of the introduction of the Victrola. The expert also suggested that it was Circassian. I asked for more photos thinking it was a possibility of being a Victrola XX. They have it listed on several craigslist areas. One of those sites showed a second photo indicating it was second style of VTLA in mahogany and lacked the carving to make it a XX. It's probably a nice machine but not nearly as unusual as they think. Jerry

Re: VTLA in Colorado Springs
I have more pictures of it and it is a mahogany VTLA with an early serial number. 2694. I would call it above average condition that might clean up very well. Have not seen sides
back or top though. The record books are missing. It has what looks to me to be a reproducer off a 20's cheap portable on it. The decal has some damage caused by needles.
Don't think I'm the "expert" cause I told her it was mahogany and I didn't see it in person. She had it up at $1,000 or best offer. I have the same one with a 4 digit s/n 4_ _ _ .
If I was close I would definitely take a look. Don't know why pics are sideways.
