Saw this Edison cylinder phonograph on eBay, its hard to tell but I think it's a Standard. What type of horn is that on it? I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it.

That's a Standard Model D or E. The horn is a Searchlight; several versions are shown in Antique Phonograph Gadgets, Gizmos, and Gimmicks and also in Antique Phonograph Accessories & Contraptions. The crane is a scarce "Chicago" (also shown in these two books) and is incorrectly installed. I'd be surprised if the machine would play that way!

Thank you George,
I was almost sure it was an Edison Standard D like you said. That horn is interesting. And it's funny how the eBay listing says "Edison Victrola"
I've never seen an Edison Victrola, it must be very rare.
Best,
-Nick

You keep at it, Nick, and you'll see lots more "Edison Victrolas," as well as "Victorlas," "Victorias," "gramophones," "Columbas," and the like!Victrolaboy wrote:Thank you George,

Not only that, it looks like an accident waiting to happen. Either the reproducer or carriage could be broken. The horn should be coupled with a rubber hose.phonogfp wrote:I'd be surprised if the machine would play that way!
