Interesting Facts: Victor indicated in the sales literature for this model that the ornate design, flashy colors, and gold gilding were marketed toward immigrants from Europe.

After coveting it for many years (often over cocktails on my visits to NY ), I recently acquired this machine from the collection of "OrthoSean".
The machine was discovered in it's original home in the rural town of St. Johnsville, NY and was under Sean's guardianship for over 8 years before finally departing New York and arriving in the Water-Winter Wonderland known as Michigan.

As many know I'm more of an Edison fan but this is one of the few Victrola models I'd like to own. Nice combination of looks, big sound and not so damned big like some of them are!

Very nice. Mine is S/N 700. One of my favorites. Do you think the door pulls are original? I've never seen that style but they look great. Congratulations.

The pulls aren't original, but are from a junked cabinet machine I had. This 8-9 was missing one knob. I still have to send Brandon the original knob and the template to create a replacement another member sent me several years ago, but never got around to doing!

This machine would never have left my possession, but last year I bought a really clean 8-8 Schoolhouse model and I decided I didn't really need two almost identical machines, so I decided it was time for it to go to a new home where it could be appreciated.
