At first glance, perhaps, but the close ups make it look like an oak C which was given several coats of mahogany colored "French Enamel Varnish" ninety-five years ago to allow it to better fit a room furnished in mahogany.

The mahogany Victor V machines are the late model, and would have a somewhat larger cabinet.

It's oak that's been goobered up with lots of dark shellac.

Tee Hee!

Good catch. Pardon my far fingers. Note that "C" and "V" are adjacent on the keyboard..

I knew you couldn't mix up a C and a V!

I agree it looks like an oak that's had a mahogany/clear coating applied to it

As an owner of a mahogany Vic 5, I can say the others are most correct. Badly covered oak Vic 5.
I can only think of three mahogany 5's out there. They are much larger then this middle production oak Vic 5.

Do they have the automatic brake? I had one in oak many years ago like that. Sure wish I would have kept that one.
