WANTED: Horn Connector for Kalamazoo Duplex Phonograph

I am looking for a horn connector to replace a broken one on a Kalamazoo Duplex Phonograph reproducer. See pictures.

That looks like something you are going to have to make or have made. If you can find two similar elbows, or at least one, from other generic reproducers or tonearm connectors, you can probably rebuild this. It would be best if you can find brass parts to replace the potmetal... Otherwise, look online for brass tubing elbows - copper plumbing elbows of ½" size are probably close.

Don't think these are potmetal but hard rubber-like. I used a 90 degree heater or bypass hose from an auto parts store. Proper size and actually it looks almost original. If someone is reproducing these out of the correct material, I'd be interested.

Yes originally they were soft rubber, now they are rock hard rubber. At one time it seems like someone was reproing them but that was many years ago, I haven't heard of any around lately.
The formed heater or bypass hose sounds like a excellent idea, I'll have to remember that.

As mentioned, these elbows used are rubber. No potmetal was used. I have never seen repro's of these made. The auto heater hose has been used on many in the past. I have seen two Berliner/Victor type leather elbows used as well.
Personally, the auto rubber hose looks more original than leather.

Plumbing parts may look a bit out of place on this machine. Also, they would add additional weight and drag then intended. ..... .

Wouldn't have guessed that they were rubber. I only wish I had known about these machines when I lived in Kalamazoo back in the late '60s and early '70s. There was a guy who owned an antique shop in the old train depot who collected phonographs and I am sure he had some of these...

That is a heck of a good idea. The only thing is....can they be made from a pliable material as per the originals..??.
