I asked Santa for one...

but I was slightly suspicions as he appeared to be a man in a costume pretending to be Santa.
I erred on the side of caution and sat on his lap anyway.

I sure would like to get that Victor VI. Is that the reproducer box in front of the machine? Interesting that they would put that on a Xmas Ad...

That box in front of the machine is the elusive #10 reproducer box ( I know of three). There is a #10 on the Vic.6 in the ad.

Wow that #10 is impressive!

I'm hoping that a nice tooled leather front Credenza fits down my chimney!
Santa, I've been good and I'm counting on you.

Thank you very much for the explanation. Still a bit confused; I understand that the #10 is extremely precious now, but I would have thought that back then it would not have been considered that special - especially for someone who could afford a Victor VI. The picture kind of suggests that one would remove the reproducer from the machine regularly and keep it in its box. Would a wealthy Victor VI owner really have done that? Like I said, very interesting...

Your very welcome. Keeping the reproducer in it's box was suggested by Victor while not in use (going back to Berliner). The #10 was a $10 extra cost if ordered loose. So, 10% of a Victor 6's worth at $100. $5 if order with the machine. So, if a Victor 6 was ordered with a #10, the factory paper underneath will state $105. The paper will state $100 if ordered with a plain gold concert or gold Exhibition.
