Reproducer gasket replacement?

Post by Hcompton79 »

What is used to replace the gasket between the tone arm and reproducer? I need mine to be 13/16" OD and ¾" ID to replace the one that fell apart. Where would one get this?

If it is for your portable phonograph I am guessing it looks something like this?

You might be able to find a bit of silicone tubing of the correct size at your local hardware store that could work.

You may also have success with rubber gasket-making sheets that can be cut into a strip and wrapped around to form a ring gasket of the correct size. Another phonograph collector suggested a product called 'Make-A-Gasket' that he found in his local hardware store, worth a try.

Yeah mine looks like the first picture, I think I'll try some red 1/16" rubber strip I found online.
