Mystery Edison 78/Pathé Adapter

Hello everybody, I would like to begin by saying that this is my first post so if I break any rules, please let me know. Alright, on to the point: I know that there were many different adapters made for Edison DD machines during their lifetime, but I have had some real trouble finding literally any information at all on the one that I have. I contacted the Victrola Guy and he couldn't help me, and Google returns zero usable/relevant results. Anybody have any info? I'm having an especially difficult time figuring out how to replace the diaphragm should it ever break. The needle arm connects within the body of the reproducer, rather than being exposed. I have attached a couple of pictures, but please pardon the quality.

This type of Edison diamond disc adapter was also offered under the Sterling name. One of many "All-In-One" adapters put on the market.

It is unlikely you will ever break the diaphragm. However, most old reproducers will sound better after a replacement of the hardened rubber gaskets. It appears that you would remove the screws from the backside of the reproducer to disassemble it to remove the diaphragm and rear gasket. Approach with extreme caution: that reproducer is appears to be made of the dreaded pot metal and could easily fall apart if subjected to much stress. Your Edison adapter is one of the more unusual adapters I have seen and perhaps it should be left as-is. Some of the more common adapters are also more serviceable.

This exact same type of reproducer was also made to fit Victor machines and allows you to play Diamond Discs or Pathés... I have seen two of these and the needle bar is exactly the same.

Thanks everybody. Seriously, your replies were the very first information I have been made privy to regarding the adapter in question. To address the concern about its being pot metal: Yes, it is, however it appears to be structurally sound. Me being my reckless self, I had already taken it apart and cleaned it a bit, as well as actually sanding the end that fits into the horn because it was way too tight, before even posting this. I think it will thus be safe to at least replace the gaskets... Thing sounds terrible as it is right now. The only broken part on it is a tiny screw holding the body together, and it doesn't concern me too much considering that there are three others.
