New machine, but need some help
I received a VV-IV for Christmas, but the turntable runs too fast. By too fast I mean it appears to be running 90 or more RPM. What could be the problem, and how could I fix it. Also could a piece of old sewing machine belt be used as brake leather and or governor leather? Pictures will be posted later. Thanks again, and Merry Christmas.

I have tried using the knob, on mine it is on the top left, most of the way down makes it sound like a machinegun, but doesn't slow it down. What can I do?

It sounds as if your governor (speed regulating mechanism) is broken. Over time, the little weights become loose and fall off.GrafonolaG50 wrote:I have tried using the knob, on mine it is on the top left, most of the way down makes it sound like a machinegun, but doesn't slow it down. It's fixed, was turning the knob the wrong way. Now it is singing once again. Only thing it needs is a crank etucheon

Congratulations on the Victrola. Do you have some records that are from the time the machine was made?
See the PM, please.
