Are any of you people familiar with the workings of u-tube website commenting on that website about these errors? Possibly trying to offer instruction to the poster or at least humiliating him into correctness? It does little good to complain on this forum without offering some positive correction. I am not u-tube literate and thus can not help.

That doesn't sound like fun at all.
This thread is light years away more entertaining, and we get to include little faces with our comments as well!!
Sorry John, just having a bit of fun with you.
I never interpreted this thread as a place where posters complained, I thought most were just sharing videos they found amusing.
Though you're right, finding amusement in others ignorance is not always the most constructive thing to do with our knowledge.

It kind of looks like they're a sapphire ball stylus. Would that would be less damaging to the record?

Thought I would add this to the bunch, another case of somebody placing the reproducer on the wrong side of a record - OUCH!
Why even bother uploading a video like this? If I didn’t know any better I would think that phonograph was a piece of cr*p
I bet the needle tip was worn down also.

The original Pathé video on YouTube has several comments from viewers who try to correct the idiot. Like most uninformed know it alls, his mind can't be changed:
"The phonograph is not of any commercial value."
Thomas Alva Edison - Comment to his assistant, Samuel Insull.
"No one needs a Victrola XX, a Perfected Graphophone Type G, or whatever you call those noisy things."

Wow, my angle grinder makes similar noises, probably doing similar damage.
I can't imagine that someone would want to record this to MP3.
No saving this poor record anymore.
