Columbia Record Label First One I Have seen

Post by Talkophone »

Picked up this Columbia Label yesterday with some other records. Doubled sided records so there only 2 Records. Sorry I haven't cleaned the records yet.

They turn up now and then- there are a;so Tango and Hesitation Waltz records, possibly more. I've never seen any of the printed instructions.

I have a different pressing of the Maxixe disc with a blue gold and while label & a Maxixe selection on the back.

I have one or two of those. Interesting, but not exciting listening.

One wonders what kinda dancing can be done to vocal versions of "Kentucky Babe" and "Dixie" !

It was a typical thing with promotional records- instructions or advertising on one side, something traditional on the other- the customer would be less likely to toss it out.

BTW- that is a rousing version of "Dixie"
