Well, I don't know Vince....the grill on yours looks upside down....so, I going to have to pass....

Actually, the machine I just posted looks a little different. The door hinges are hidden. The grill, type of wood (oak), etc... are not the same. The legs look (even without castors) look shorter and slightly thicker. Which one is later or ????.

Picky, picky, picky....

I think my machine is earlier as it has the old style tone arm and the square horn. The oak would be stunning if it wasn't so badly damaged,
but I was surprised at the quality of the Mahogany veneer on my machine once I cleaned it and was able to see it.

I'm guessing that the oak machine also has the sliding wooden record drawers that I see in a lot of the later 'quality' Brunswick machines

Mine is exactly the same cabinet & square horn as Vince's, but with a different (flat, less ornate) grille, the Ultona double reproducer, and mine still has its record slots.

If it can be got for $350 or less, I'd say go for it !

It looks like the top of the line Brunswick to me. Am I correct? When I think of a really gaudy top machine, I think of the Sonora Supreme. What's a nice Supreme worth? ...maybe $6,000 to $9,000 for a mahogany one? Who knows how much a Circassian example would fetch! How much would collectors pay for a Supreme in the condition of this Brunswick? My post has taken this thread off topic but I have a point. It's my opinion that this Brunswick, if it's the top model, is well worth the asking price of $500. In the hands of a good restorer this machine could be spectacular and worth several times the value of a model the next step down in the Brunswick catalog. All the "skinflints" around here have me cowed into low-balling these sorts of things.

As for the Sonora "bombe`" models... I've never really liked them very much, and that wooden tone-arm just bothers me.

I don't know about a four-figure potential for this machine, but it has a lot going for it in the aethestics dept., even if the condition is less than mint..

There are scads of machines that will always be "plain", or down-right "ugly", no mater how pristine or well-restored they might be.

I would trade my golden-oak Brunswick 117 "Ultona" for this one...
